Highland Park residents donated more than $332,000 to 28 organizations in Highwood and Highland Park Oct. 24 at an annual ceremony hosted by the Highland Park Community Foundation with Yea! Highland Park at the Bella Via Restaurant.

In addition, former Mayor Ray Geraci was given the Community Foundation's Distinguished Citizen Award for his lifetime of service to Highland Park.

The awards were from funds raised by Yea! Highland Park with Ravinia Festival Park at their Sept. 9 evening fund-raiser featuring Hootie and the Blowfish, and from interest earned by the Foundation on its $1.4 million endowment.

Awards greater than $30,000 were given to The Art Center, Apple Tree Theater, Family ...
