Fonnie Duron knows how to communicate, as a businesswoman and a taxpayer.
When the Cafe Paradiso closed last June, Duron, the owner, left a sign posted in her door that read: "Closed due to a jackass partner."
The closure of the restaurant, on the square near the Porter County Courthouse, seemed extra odd, as Duron had fought for a three-way liquor license from Valparaiso after Indiana state legislators granted the city 10 special permits for downtown.
