Article: Students learn about climate change

Helicopters twirled through the air as monkeys plunged through water.

But, this wasn't a jailbreak from a zoo.

It was Central School sixth-grade students teaming up with South School second-graders to conduct science experiments having to do with air pressure before Winter Break. The older students quizzed the younger students on the results.

Catherine Wang, South School principal, said second-graders are learning about weather and air at the same time sixth-graders are learning about climate change. Staff decided it would be a good idea to use the sixth-graders as learning mentors.
