Around 200 people participated in Family Fun Day at the Community Center Saturday.
"A majority of participants were people from the community," said River Forest Community Center Director Dick Chappell. "We also had program participants show up and people who weren't in programs but saw fliers advertising the fun day."
Family Fun Day was geared toward bringing in new participants and making the community aware of all the center has to offer, Chappell said.
"We try to do this once a year," he said. "It's a way to help promote our programs and to make people aware what we have inside the building, from the gym and indoor playground to the dance studio. ...
