It has been five years of hard left turns at top speeds since NASCAR added Chicagoland Speedway to its schedule.
The first five Cup Series races in Joliet have been won by some of the biggest names in the sport and have been surprisingly competitive and exciting for a new 1.5-mile track.
Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart won in dominant fashion, Ryan Newman and Dale Earnhardt Jr. run with strategy and Harvick won a second time after a spin on the apron.
The first Busch Series race was won by Jimmie Johnson while Newman sat on the pole. Both were superstars in the sport by the following year.
