Mild weather made the holiday season merry for many downtown Wheaton merchants, who said their businesses did well in December.
"December was a busy time for us," said Dan Cwik, manager of Muldoon's, an Irish pub and restaurant downtown. "People came in for informal get-togethers, and companies also had their Christmas parties here."
And they were ready to spend money, he said.
"During the holiday season, customers are more inclined to order more expensive items, such as prime rib, rather than hamburgers or sandwiches," Cwik said.
