One of my editors cautions me not to "go back to the well too soon," and, given my focus on certain topics in my quest to save the world, that's very good advice. So despite my recent column on drug companies, when I heard the FDA was requiring stronger warnings on bottles of Ambien and 12 other sleep aids, I couldn't help myself.
You may recall a June 2006 column by Denise Crosby on the death of Aurora resident Bruce Berger. Although a DuPage County coroner's jury ruled his death a suicide, his widow, Stacy, maintains that Bruce fell victim to an Ambien-induced hallucination when he dived under a Metra train.
