Library book sale begins today The Algonquin Area Public Library will hold its annual spring book sale today through Sunday in the basement of its branch, 115 Eastgate St. The sale, conducted by the Friends of the Library organization, will feature up to 21,000 titles this year. Pricing for most books is $1 for hardcover, 75 cents for soft cover and 50 cents for paperback. DVDs will be sold for $2, and videos and audiotapes for $1. Today's preview sale has a $10 admission fee. No admission will be charged Friday through Sunday.

Sale hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, when remaining books will be marked half-price.
