Article: New court date in ticket-fixing case

JOLIET - Joliet Park Board member Art Schultz Jr. and a former county employee were in court Friday morning but nothing really happened in their ticket-fixing case. The judge assigned a new court date and gave both of them permission to travel out of state on unrelated vacations. On Nov. 16, Schultz Jr., 45, of 1408 Martin Court, Joliet, was charged with two felony counts of official misconduct and tampering with public records involving 11 tickets.

While the crimes were being investigated, Schultz Jr. was the security services coordinator at the Will County Courthouse, earned $56,000 a year, and was in charge of moving prisoners between the jail and the courtrooms. But he resigned without ...
