Article: Evanstonians want Yellow Line el stop

Richard and Katherine Nemanich can hear the Yellow Line el trains rumble by when they sit on the patio outside their Brummel Street home west of Dodge Avenue.

But in order to ride the commuter rails to their respective jobs in Chicago, they must drive to the Evanston Purple Line stop at South Boulevard. They often drive in separate cars because of their different schedules.

"If I could get on the Yellow Line train and ride it downtown, that noise wouldn't bother me," said Richard Nemanich, one of a number of residents who spoke in favor of a south Evanston Yellow Line stop during a preliminary meeting May 24.
