Article: Take-and-bake pizza comes to downtown

Customers won't be upset when their carry-out pizza arrives cold from a new pizza place in Arlington Heights, because that's the way it's supposed to be.

Homemade Pizza Company, which is opening a store at 17 S. Dunton Ave., prepares made-to-order pizzas, but does not cook them. The pizzas are packaged and taken home to be baked.

"You can bring a product home that tastes like you made it, it's so fresh," said Bob Surman, an employee and representative of Homemade Pizza, which has 14 locations operating in the Chicago area.
