Tomato sauce
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
« cup chopped white onion
1/3 cup crushed garlic
2 small cans tomato paste
2 tablespoons dried crushed basil
2 tablespoons dried crushed oregano
2 16 oz. cans tomato sauce
2 16 oz. crushed tomatoes (canned or fresh)
« cup sugar
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
Heat oil over medium heat in sauce pan. Add onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and tomato paste. Cook until onion and garlic are soft and translucent.
Transfer to large pot. Add 4 cups water. Cover and heat on low 15 minutes.
Add basil, oregano, tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, and 1 to 2 cups more water to desired ...
