HOUSTON - Will Ohman, who grew up in the Denver area, usually tries to make it a family affair when the Cubs visit Colorado.

On Tuesday, however, two days before the Cubs' visit to Denver, the team made a surprising move by demoting the left-handed reliever to Triple-A Iowa and bringing up Sean Gallagher to serve as a long reliever and possible spot starter.

"It stinks," Ohman said about missing out on the Colorado trip. "My parents haven't seen their grandkids for six months."

Ohman had been a mainstay in the Cubs bullpen since late April 2005. He signed a two-year, $2.5 million deal during the offseason.
