Fireworks, parade stillscheduled The parade and fireworks will go on this weekend, although Central Park in Manhattan will seem quiet in comparison to years past as Fun Day activities will not be taking place.

In past years, festivities would continue after the parade with games and inflatables for the kids, food, bingo, dancing and more.

However, this year, Central Park will not be host to Fun Day as organizations that have managed it in the past were unable to find volunteers to pick up the torch this year.

"Although traditional Fun Day activities will not be in place Labor Day weekend, we hope residents will bring their picnics and blankets out to see the fireworks and parade," said ...
