Article: Flood insurance sales predicted to increase

Now that the Bolingbrook area is dry again after all the recent rain, some people may start thinking about the old homeowner's dilemma: flood insurance, or no flood insurance?

Mike Bryant, the Federal Emergency Management Agency's community coordination officer for northeastern Illinois, said rainy weather reminds people about flooding.

"That's when people are most aware there is a hazard," he said. "We are constantly trying to do outreach and education to educate the public about the benefits of having flood insurance, but it's a lot easier of a sell once an event has occurred."
