Article: Big plays prove too much for Plainfield North

It was a game of big plays, but unfortunately for visiting Plainfield North High School, it turned out that Wheaton North enjoyed a couple more big plays late in the nonconference contest Aug. 31.

Wheaton North prevailed 42-28 after scoring twice in the final 5:05 to clinch the victory.

Until the late big plays, Plainfield North had realistic hopes of an upset. Instead, the Tigers fell to 1-1 while the host Falcons improved to 2-0.

"They have great size and great speed on both sides of the ball," North coach Tim Kane said. "I thought our kids, in the second half, played very well."
