Dr. Wallace -- I'm 16 and considered by some to be an ugly duckling because my nose is too long. Ever since I can remember, I have been the butt of many jokes. Still, I have weathered the storm and have many friends and, best of all, I now feel comfortable about my physical appearance.
My parents want me to have my nose shortened surgically. Some days I would like to have the surgery, but at other times, the answer is no. I am an avid reader of your column and I'm aware that you encourage teens who desire to have corrective surgery to "go for it." But in my situation, I'm not quite sure what I want to do.
