Some of you have noticed that we no longer list MAF Bancorp, the holding company of Mid America Bank and its area branches, among our stocks of local interest on the Money & Markets page.
That's because MAF, which only two years ago bought EFC Bancorp and its nine Elgin-area branches, was recently purchased by Cleveland-based National City Corp.
If you're interested in how the new owner's stock is doing, look for National City (NYSE: NCC) in our stocks of local interest.
