DISTRICT 65The next District 65 Finance Committee meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave., Evanston.
LINCOLN
On Sept. 20, first-graders at Lincoln School participated in Jumpstart Read for the Record 2007 sponsored by Starbucks, Pearson Learning, American Eagle and Urban Outfitters. The national campaign is designed to encourage children and adults from across the country to read the same book on the same day.
Jumpstart was started as an effort to close the education achievement gap by exposing children to language and literacy skills. This year the children listened to the stories of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, The Little Engine That ...
