Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois has filed an injunction against Libertyville's Condell Medical Center, seeking to prevent the hospital from canceling its PPO contract with Blue Cross before the end of the year.
Condell announced it was terminating its PPO contract with Blue Cross effective Oct. 1, after contract talks broke down between the two sides. Starting in October, Condell could begin billing Blue Cross patients directly for services rendered at Condell facilities.
On Sept. 27, however, Blue Cross filed an injunction and temporary restraining order in Cook County Circuit Court to prevent Condell from "prematurely canceling" its PPO contract before Dec. 31. A hearing on the ...
