CHANNAHON - The 50th annual Joliet area bowling awards dinner, featuring the introduction of Queen Nikki Lunsford and King Wayne Gayhart, was held Saturday night at Skateland Recreation Center in Channahon.

Many pictures from past dinners were on display, including a slide-show presentation of past dinners.

The first awards dinner was held May 22, 1958 at the Woodruff Hotel in Joliet. Those in charge of the first dinner were Bill Stukel, Mary Jane Sporar, Maybelle Cooling, Margaret Martin, Bill Randolf, Neb Workman, and Herman Lindberg. Crowned the first Queen and King of Joliet Area Bowling were Helen Brown and Cliff Tolle.

There were approximately 180 in attendance to celebrate the 50th ...
