Dr. Donald MundieA memorial service for Dr. Donald Robertson Mundie, a longtime resident of Evanston, is scheduled for 3 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Lake Street Church, 607 Lake St., Evanston.

Dr. Mundie, 84, died Oct. 16 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in 1923, he was a competitive swimmer in high school and worked as a lifeguard. He graduated from Duke Medical School in Durham, N.C., in 1947.

He married Elizabeth L. Champion in the Duke University Chapel on June 3, 1947.

After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict, Dr. Mundie moved to Evanston to practice pediatrics with a fellow Naval officer.
