Genevieve Ferraro has stopped trying to keep up with the Joneses.
And she has finally overcome big house envy, which is difficult to do on the wealthy, competitive North Shore.
However, with a little tough love from husband Rick and a newfound appreciation for the right fit, Genevieve turned their small Evanston two-story Colonial house, built in the 1940s after World War II, into a treasure she has dubbed the Jewel Box Home, a name borrowed from architect Louis Sullivan's Jewel Box Banks. The Jewel Box Banks are small, square but ornate buildings found throughout the Midwest.
