Playing the new Simpsons video game is a lot like watching the TV

show. After umpteen versions, you pretty much know what to expect but

there are enough imaginative and laugh-out-loud moments to make it worth

your while. Essentially a platform game in which you explore various

corners of Springfield as Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa, "The Simpsons Game"

distinguishes itself by mercilessly poking fun at video game conventions.

During an early training phase of the game, in which Homer finds himself

in a chocolate-filled Willy Wonka-land of giant cakes, lollipops and ice

cream sandwiches, I managed to guide my character over an obstacle.
