Movies that anger us can be some of the most rewarding and

satisfying cinematic experiences. These films challenge our way of

thinking and move us to make profound changes in the way we perceive our

surroundings. "Margot at the Wedding" certainly inspires anger but in all

the wrong ways. It has been a long time since I have had outright contempt

for a film and searched mightily for any redeeming qualities yet came up

with nothing. It is one thing for a film to be bad because it is

uninspired or tends toward movie conventions. But this film offers so many

miscalculations that I am having a hard time understanding why any studio
