Mundelein High School senior Kevin Coughlin is used to standing out.
It comes with the territory when you stand 7-feet off the ground.
"I'll be walking down the street and people that don't know me will ask how tall I am," he said.
Coughlin is starting to stand out in the pool as well.
Prior to the rigorous winter break training sessions, Coughlin already is equaling his best times from last year in the 50-yard freestyle (22.7) and the 100 freestyle (49.7).
"The more he works on his technique, the better he gets," coach Rachel Abel said in an e-mail interview. "He's working on all the things that will get him to his goal times at the end of the year."
