Former United States Senator George Mitchell released his investigative report into the use of illegal steroids and other performance enhancing drugs in Major League Baseball on Thursday, including the names of about 80 current and former major leaguers.
One name in the report was Naperville native and Naperville North High School alumnus Jerry Hairston, Jr.
The Beacon News reached Hairston Thursday, and though he had not seen the report the free agent second baseman stood by the strong comments he made in March when SI.com initially reported he received performance enhancing drugs.
