In 2000, Greg Kohs transitioned from making Super Bowl films to making award-winning Super Bowl commercials. He's best known for making the hit Super Bowl commercial parody series "This Week in Pee Wee Football" for Nike.
His football background informed the documentary "Song Sung Blue," his feature-film directoral debut, which premiered last week at the Slamdance Film Festival in Utah. "Song Sung Blue," an inspirational story about the Neil Diamond tribute duo Lightning & Thunder, won the grand jury and audience awards for best documentary feature.
