Article: Gift card, memory card complete rather weird scenario of camera sale

Dear Fixer: I ordered a camera and memory card from Dell in January. It was to be delivered within three to five days. I paid in full using a credit card and a $100 Dell gift card. The memory card was delivered in three days. I checked Dell's Web site for the status of the camera. It indicated the camera was in production, which means the camera was being built to my specifications -- which didn't make sense, since it was a prepackaged, basic camera.

On Feb. 4, I received an e-mail saying that it was shipped that day. I was patient until Feb. 17, when I wrote my first e-mail to Dell inquiring as to the whereabouts of my camera. ...
