Care for a slice of pi?
Middle schools in Geneva and Aurora were serving up two kinds Friday: the numerical pi, in honor of Pi Day (3/14, get it?) and the more traditional whipped cream variety.
At Geneva Middle School South, students spent their math classes Friday memorizing pi to as many decimal places as they could while listening to tunes like Don McLean's American Pie and winning oatmeal cream pies and gift certificates to Baker's Square as prizes.
The seventh- and eighth-graders who memorized the most decimal places got the biggest prize of all ... a chance to smash a whipped cream pie into a principal's face.
