Article: Work set for high-traffic Caton Farm Road site

JOLIET - Construction starts Monday for the Caton Farm Road intersection with the west Interstate 55 frontage road.

The intersection is a heavily used commuter route. So, the work will affect large numbers of motorists who use the route to and from work.

When the project is done in July, however, traffic should flow more smoothly with new left-turn lanes added on Caton Farm Road.

The city will reconfigure the intersection to add left-turn lanes in both directions on Caton Farm Road.

Caton Farm traffic headed east in particular tends to line up in the left lane to turn onto the frontage road, a route that connects to U.S. 30 and leads to the nearest I-55 access.
