No, cook is too simple a description of the job. A cook makes eggs over easy and grilled cheese sandwiches. Mom does that.
But these days of health consciousness, mom is also a gourmet chef, whipping up beautiful, healthful meals for the whole family, even on the go.
Mom is a personal tutor. She helps with homework, especially math. She has an eye for catching the occasional typographical errors in the paper about Robert Frost.
