LIBERTYVILLE - Traffic congestion along downtown Milwaukee Avenue and its side streets may soon be a thing of the past based upon actions taken at Tuesday night's Village Board meeting.

Trustees approved construction of the village's first parking structure. Bids will be sought shortly and construction is expected to get under way in July.

In voting for the proposal, Trustee Bob Peron stressed the village will continue its tradition of providing free parking to the public.
