Coaching football is anything but new to Luis Arroyo, despite the fact that being named as Elmwood Park's new varsity mentor is the former Holy Cross High School player's first head job.
Arroyo, 33, was selected from a field of approximately 40 applicants, said Elmwood Park Athletic Director Doug Noyes. Arroyo replaces, Eric Hennessey, who stepped down after compiling a three-year record of 7-20 so that he can "spend more time with his family," Noyes said.
"We had about 70 inquiries about the job, and we interviewed five people," Noyes said. "We're very excited about Luis taking over as our head coach. He has a great football background, he knows the area, is very enthusiastic and works very ...
