Article: Bowling ball art from the garden club

The Rolling Meadows Garden Club has come up with one of its zaniest projects ever. Calling their August program Strik-ing Garden Art, they are offering us the opportunity to make a ladybug garden decoration -- out of a bowling ball.

Members have been collecting bowling balls for weeks and taking care of the grunt work for us, covering them with exterior primer and bright red paint. At the meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Community Center, participants will complete the finished design and have their own ladybug ready to take home and snuggle into the garden.

There will be other directions available at the meeting for turning your old bowling ball into a bee or decorating it ...
