Article: Legislature should reject gov's ethics bill

In the always unpredictable world of Illinois politics, we now have at least one guarantee: Come Jan. 1, Illinois will see some form of campaign finance reform, finally.

On Monday, Gov. Blagojevich signed an executive order that goes after that obscene practice known as pay-to-play politics. Next year, all companies with large contracts from any state agencies controlled by the governor will be banned from donating to all statewide elected officials and legislators. This takes aim at the tit-for-tat attitude that pervades Illinois -- give to me and I'll make sure you get yours.
