Article: Restaurant, banquet hall replacing Trader Joe's

A restaurant and banquet hall will replace the former Trader Joe's in the Brookside Plaza, a shopping center abutting Northbrook in unincorporated Cook County.

The establishment, developed by Ed Renko, will house The Pavilion restaurant and the Peter Gof Banquet Hall under the same roof at 577 Waukegan Road. The building's maximum occupancy is 500.

"It'll be the best looking banquet hall on the North Shore," Renko boasted Tuesday.

The businesses will operate seven days a week and serve Eastern European and French cuisine, Renko said.

Trader Joe's closed in 2007.

Renko said the banquet hall will open in a week or two and the restaurant at the end of the month. Managers are planning an open house ...
