Las Paletas was out of the avocado-flavored ones, so Adrienne Muich tried the chai tea flavor.

Muich of Pingree Grove went on vacation last spring to Nashville, Tenn., and visited Las Paletas, a well-known company that makes "gourmet" paletas.

A paleta (pah-lay-ta) is a Mexican ice pop made with fresh fruits or other ingredients. They come in a variety of one-of-a-kind flavors.
