A forthcoming report indicates global climate change might be creating longer, more severe ragweed allergy seasons, but the true measure of a season's severity might be little more difficult to predict, according to a local allergist.
An article to appear in the September installment of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, by Richard Weber, chairman of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Aerobiology Committee, states that global climate change is contributing to increased temperatures and carbon dioxide levels, which can intensify the fall ragweed allergy season, Weber said in a statement previewing the article.
