Like much of the Internet, improvisational comedy is fueled by audience participation.

For nearly half a century, the Second City has incorporated user-generated media to stage its theatrical productions. So it should be no surprise that the company is using these principles to sketch out its future on the Web.

"We've been interactive for 50 years, and I'm glad the world has finally caught up," said Tom Yorton, president of Second City Inc. "It is interesting now that through the Web there is a real appetite and appreciation for these ideals. We've been hard-wired to think this way from the beginning."
