Article: Scholarship named for late Deerfield resident

The Ernst & Young James E. Buckman Memorial Scholarship/Fellowship for Indiana University's Kelley School of Business students has been established to honor the late James E. Buckman, a pioneer in the special event industry.

Buckman, co-owner of Skokie-headquartered BBJ Linen, a national vendor of specialty linens to the event industry, was killed in an automobile crash on Sept. 10, 2007. His widow, Margaret, resides in Deerfield.

Buckman's daughter and son-in-law, Katharine and Justin Greis, founded the Scholarship/Fellowship. The fund will help potential students interested in a business education at the Kelley School of Business.
