Article: Ice Dons pick up big win over Mount Carmel

The Notre Dame Varsity Ice Dons made some noise in the Catholic League Sept. 25 as it defeated highly favored South Side Catholic League opponent Mount Carmel 6-1 at the Niles Ice Rink in Niles.

Mount Carmel opened the scoring 90 seconds into the game only to have the Ice Dons erupt for six unanswered goals. Coach Gallagher said this was a huge win and a complete team victory. Notre Dame goalie Jeremy Krautsrunk was remarkable in net, making 23 saves.
