Article: Author's 'P.O.W.E.R.' uses Bible lessons

When Belinda Hood, 54, of Bolingbrook, sat down to write her first book, she planned to share between its pages her spiritual insights to a recent, undiagnosed illness from which she has now recovered.

Instead, Hood, a licensed and ordained minister, as well as pastor of Love in Action church in Chicago, had a dream where, she said, God told her to write instead a short book (108 pages) about spiritual power. That book, "P.O.W.E.R.," is an acronym about the topics Hood explains in Bible study format.

Topics include "Perseverance through prayer," "Overcome every obstacle," "Worship by the Word," "Enlighten through endurance," and "Resurrection with results."
