Article: Arlington Heights Park District scheduled to approve tax levy

The Arlington Heights Park District will reconsider its 2008 property tax levy this evening, which they had planned to increase 6.4 percent, then hold a public hearing on the revised amount.

At the beginning of October, members of the park district staff proposed a $10.3 million tax levy, which would be $616,000 more than the 2007 levy.

But in the past week, the park commissioners decided to seek other ways to balance next year's budget.
