Will a savings of $2 a day entice Skokie Swift riders to park their vehicles in the north parking lot and cross Dempster Street to get to the train station rather than parking in the closer south lot?
Skokie officials think that may be the case, although the new price disparity in parking fees between the two lots was not their decision.
The CTA, which controls fees only in the Skokie Swift lot on the south side of Dempster Street, has announced that daily parking fees will increase from $2 to $4 for a 12-hour period starting in January.
