JASPER COUNTY Driver injured when ejected in rollover
A Windfall, Ind., teen broke his neck and back when he was ejected from his truck in a rollover crash Friday morning.
John E. Miller, 19, was taken to Jasper County Hospital with multiple lacerations, a broken neck, back and femur.
Around 6:50 a.m., senior trooper Rick Strong responded to a single vehicle rollover.
Police said Miller was southbound on Interstate 65 at the 224 mile-marker when he fell asleep at the wheel. He drove his 1997 Ford Ranger pickup off the west side of the road and rolled the it twice. He was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected through the windshield, police say, and landed about 50 feet from the truck.
