Article: Search for Christmas memories finds the essence of holiday spirit

Being Jewish, I don't have a whole lot of Christmas memories, so I went along to Naper Settlement recently to see if I could find some. Their annual Christmas Memories event offers a glimpse into Christmas traditions of yesteryear, with carolers, crafts and horse-drawn wagon rides.

Unfortunately the night I picked to go was more of a wet Christmas than a white one. It was so wet the ink disappeared on my soggy notebook as soon as I had written in it. Not surprisingly, very few people were there, so I decided to take salvation in the chapel. (Don't tell the rabbi).
