THANK GOODNESS THE banking industry's big shots are being called on the carpet on Capitol Hill to explain where all the hundreds of billions of bailout and rescue funds are going. Small businesses, as I said before, are suffering under the weight of what is an economic catastrophe in this country.
The bankers in this town should make sure they are doing their part to help homeowners and small businesses. Also, some of that money should go to buying advertisements in the local newspapers touting their services and what they are offering the people in Our Town to keep folks from going under. The trickle-down effect may trickle too slowly to keep citizens from going bankrupt.
