Dear Pat: While my antique bathroom fixtures still work well, the old, ornate brass is tarnished. I would prefer to restore rather than replace them. How do I refinish them so that they do not tarnish once they have been cleaned? - Jo Ann
Dear Jo Ann: Antique brass fixtures can be ornate and beautiful. But they can difficult, if not impossible, to match with replacements. Because many antique brass fixtures were handmade by craftsmen, the often are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. If you are unable to clean one, you will probably need to replace all the fixtures in your bathroom so that they will match.
