Article: Union workers rally for contract at Oberweis Dairy

NORTH AURORA - Members of Teamsters 673 rallied for a fair contract for union workers at the Oberweis Dairy plant Friday.

About 69 union workers have been without a contract since Feb. 15. The union has been in negotiations with Oberweis Dairy for four months and have had one vote so far, in which members opposed an agreement, said Roger Kohler, secretary treasurer and principal officer of Local 673. The 69 affected workers are fighting for a contract that protects against subcontracting and other non-union alternatives as the company proposed, union officials said.
